So, we are now in Appium 2.0. In fact I am using 2.13. A few months ago, when I tried to look at Appium. I was able to set it up with Amazon Corretto Java 8. However, when I started running the tests, I used to get various exceptions. Shhh! there are some appium interview questions too, so read on till the end.

What were some of the challenges with appium?

Unfortunately, some folks cannot simply figure out why test cases did not execute.
So, I did a fresh install with Java 21, and suddenly things were much better. Figuring out versions of dependencies was another pain. Surely an alert like A newer version of Java should be suggested/recommended.

Appium Interview questions

Open the IntelliJ IDE, write your Java code and hope it will run. Yes, there could be some things I have missed but you get the idea.

The problem with some Software testers could be that, they need to get their automation environment up and running. Anything that makes the process easy is a godsend.

All this is for the UiAutomator2 framework. You can try other frameworks like Robot with appium which could be much easier to setup.
